FAQs + How It Works

When do you buy and trade clothing?

We are currently looking at items by appointment only going forward. We usually are booking a couple weeks (more or less) in advance, depending on our current volume of sellers and availability. Feel free to give us a call or send us an e-mail to set up a time to bring your items in for consideration. Due to COVID, we ask that everything is newly laundered, and please limit your items to 1 or 2 grocery sized bags.

How do I receive money for my clothes?

Make an appointment, bring your gently used clothing to Launch and if there is anything we feel will be a good fit for the store, you will receive cash, Venmo, Paypal, or a check right then and there for 30-40% of what we think the items will sell for. Much of our stock moves when it goes on sale, so we do have to factor that in with our pay outs.

You do not have to wait for the items to sell in order to get paid- we assume all risk.

How do I trade my clothes?

Instead of taking an outright amount for your clothes, you can choose to trade. You get 35% more in credit as opposed to taking an outright payment. We will give you a credit slip you can use to purchase items from Launch.

Can I leave my items for you to go through while I run errands?

Absolutely! You can drop off your items at the buying counter and return at an agreed specified time.

Do my items need to be on hangers?

No! We actually prefer them to be in bags or a similar receptacle, due to limited hanging space behind our counter.

How do I know what to bring in to sell?

Launch buys and sells contemporary name brand, fashionable, and unique items of clothing in like new condition. Our favorite and most popular labels are Free People, Anthropologie, Madewell, lululemon, Everlane, Hudson, Lucky, Vince, J. Crew, 7 For All Mankind, Frye, Hobo, Wildfox, Michael Stars, Urban Outfitters, Citizens of Humanity, Theory, Indigenous, Marmot, and the list goes on…

Are there certain items you are currently looking for?

Not so much- we get a high volume of sellers, so there generally aren't categories which we are lacking in. We look for items that fit all of our criteria in terms of style, brand, condition, and so on. Kind of a "we know it when we see it" approach.

Do you take shoes, accessories, and jewelry?

To put it simply…yes! As long as the item is in line with the styles which sell well for us.

How does it work for bringing in kids stuff?

Same rules for buying and selling apply, but with more brand flexibility. We also accept children’s books, some toys, and accessories.
